But there's hope. Levi Yitzchok of Berditchev says the אש לבנה is ה׳'s incomprehensible Torah. But ה׳ overlaid it with the אש שחורה, the text that we, as human beings, are capable of understanding: {:he} >רבותינו ז"ל אמרו (דב"ר ג) התורה ניתנה באש שחורה על גבי אש לבנה. אפשר לומר, דהרמז דעל ידי מתן תורה יש כח בישראל...והנה גוון לבן כולל כל הגוונין שמקבל כל הגוונין. וזה מרומז על השם יתברך שכולל הכל ושחור אינו כן שאינו כולל כל גוונין רק גוון שחור שיש בו זה מרומז על בן אדם. וזהו שעל ידי נתינת התורה זכו ישראל שהאש שחורה יהיה על גבי, רצה לומר למעלה מאש לבנה, דהיינו שישראל יהיו למעלה כביכול יהיה יותר פועל דברי ישראל מדברי הקדוש ברוך הוא. --קדושת לוי, במדבר, דרוש לשבועות >One of the most brilliant depictions of the conflict between the various approaches to the Bible was shown in the animated film _Lights_.
